The Latcherie family resides in a 2-story single family home, built over 100 years ago, in a modest rural neighborhood. The homes within the neighborhood are set far apart from each other, the streets are paved, and traffic is minimal. The neighborhood is clean and relatively safe, as there have been no incidents reported in the neighborhood.
The upper story of the house has an exterior balcony with railing that extends the length of the house. The yard, both front and back, is well kept and without obstruction. There is a stove top located atop the kitchen island, with fresh vegetables visible on the counter. A list of emergency numbers are observed next to the home phone located in the kitchen area. The bedrooms are on the upper floor of the home, and a stairwell is used to reach this area. Ceiling fans are utilized for cooling. There are smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors located both upstairs and downstairs and are functioning properly.
