Towards the end of 2006 two coal miners from the Sago explosion took their own lives, John Boni, 63, who handled water pumps, and William Chisolm, 47, a coal miner dispatcher. There was no suicide note however, many people whose lives are connected to the Sago Mine think that guilt and grief troubled the two men. “Chisolm shot himself to death on Aug. 29; Boni did the same on Sept. 23. "My husband was just completely and emotionally torn up," says Boni's wife, Vickie. "It killed him."
