Gonzales received report and assessed the situation on the maternity unit it became evident to her she may be exceeding her competence level with the type of patient who was arriving from the Emergency Room. As her common sense would dictate and in alignment with the ANA Code of Ethics she advised the Nursing Supervisor of her concerns and requested assistance. It was at this moment that her integrity as a nurse was being threatened.
