Dependent Variable(s): Egg
Problem: After twenty-four hours in each solution, what will happen to the egg and its mass? The solutions will make the mass of the egg increase and decrease depending on what the density of the liquid is.
Hypothesis: If we put the egg in different solutions for twenty-four hours each then it will increase in volume when it's in the vinegar and distilled water but it will decrease in mass when you put it in maple syrup because when it's in the vinegar and distilled water, it has a larger density than the water and vinegar so it will absorb the water and vinegar, the mass will decrease in the maple syrup because the density …show more content…
My hypothesis was correct because the results show the mass decreasing when put in maple syrup and the mass increasing when put in the vinegar and distilled water as you can see in the results. When I put the egg into the vinegar it increased in size as well did its mass it when form 63.5 grams to 79.5 grams. When I put the egg into the maple syrup it looked deflated, the mass of the egg went from 79.5 grams to 47.2 grams. When I put the egg into the distilled water it has been blown up, its mass went from 47.2 grams to 92.6 grams. The variables where the egg, maple syrup, vinegar and distilled water the vinegar and distilled water both made the mass of the egg increase.
What would happen to a grape if you put it into 3 different solutions for twenty-four hours each? An experiment to test this would be to do the same thing as you did with the egg except change all the amounts of liquid to 100 mL. If you put a grape into 3 different solutions for twenty-for hours each
