Strengths: - Foreshadow to the client the reason why we are mailing out the documents. - Foreshadow to the client how long it would take for documents to be received. Opportunities: - Did the Advocate insert relevant and effective LJN’s/Codes? Bryan noted the account as a document request Bryan should have included that the client is upset with our decision of not refunding the deposit and has hired a private investigator to look into documentation. - Empathy: When client said that she did a lot of work on her end to get the loan in process Bryan could have offered empathy at this point. Bryan could have said that I am sorry for your frustrations.…
Ramona is a team player and has continued to provide supports to her co workers in any way that she can. She has established great relationships with our community partners and has continued to develop those relationships by keeping in contact with CIT officers, community liaisons, and other State Departments. Ramona is not a confrontational person and when a client becomes confrontational with her she immediately informs me to minimize conflict. Ramona remains calm and professional in an intense situation. For example Ramona had a case where the Reported Adult and her daughter were attempting to defraud Medicaid and was also threatening our department with harm.…

1. Should the worker have shared his concern with Rose about not having sufficiently dealt with her trauma? I believe that the worker should have shared his concern with Rose about her not sufficiently dealing with her trauma. Based on notes and class discussion, the most presenting problem in a case should be dealt with first. He was counseling her because she had tried to kill herself.…

Useful Measurements To get a clear picture of Carla’s needs, motivation, and willingness to change; I needed to know more about Carla’s triggers for substance use. During this interview, I administered a short self-reported questionnaire assessment tool called The Inventory of Drug-Taking Situations (IDT-8), this tool is usually the first step as a way to identify trigger situations that would lead a person to use drugs and alcohol. The assessment tool consist of “eight subscales: unpleasant emotions (10 items), physical discomfort (5), pleasant emotions (5), testing personal control (5), urges and temptations (5), conflict with others (10), social pressure to use (5), and pleasant times with others (5)”. Using this tool allows the client…
There are a number of reasons that Carla could be agitated over, such as: being overwhelmed, confused, and angry about the agency’s actions, fearful, exhausted, confused, needing attention, and being angry about something said or done. I do believe the staff didn’t take Carla’s anger personally, because the staff recognized there was an underlying issue that needed to be resolved. Staff recognized that we all experience tough times and feelings of anger are not out of the ordinary. The staff was focused on disarming the anger, before the client escalated any further. Staff disarmed the client’s anger by respecting the client, understanding the problem, practicing empathy, eliminating the current issue, and focusing on coming to a resolution…
However, the results might be influenced by the luck of information, time, resources or when families are not willing to participate in collaboration. The practice method appropriate for this case could be brief solution-focused therapy, which relies on seeking positive changes with individuals and families moving away from a problem focused approach. This approach was influenced by Milton Erickson and De Shazer and is oriented on minimal intervention. Research rates effectiveness of this method in treatment of groups from 65% to 82%.…

What? I came into this course with very little background knowledge about health coaching and I was pleasantly surprised at how powerful this process can be. As a coach, I experienced success and setbacks throughout the process—both of which were crucial in learning to become a better health coach. From the beginning of the coaching process, my client and I achieved many successes. My client was motivated and willing to make a change, which is a major step in the coaching process.…

This time gave me an opportunity to undertake reflective listening through active listening which according to Rogers (1975) in his “client-centered” therapy argues that it encourages the client to share the information in more depth than if I was only asking directive questions. This enabled me to gain information when the client brought out the underlying issues including those that I had not thought about. The active listening also improved my relationship with the client since I was able to express acceptance by avoiding any expression of disagreement or judgement thus making him open up and also trust me as his couselor. This method also left me with enough time to explore and diagnose the issue thus noting the new ways of approach to the…
