INTRODUCTION
The case study given is about Haniel’s company which is a closed corporation held by the family members. The company was founded in 1756 by Jan Willem Noot and was reinvented by Haniel. He developed the company from Duisburg based commodities trading corporation to a German industrial enterprise. The headquarters of this company is situated in Duisburg-Ruhror since 1756. About 260 years ago, customs inspector Jan Willem Noot intended a storing home for groceries in the Royal Gardens in Ruhrort. Thus, to attain the hereditary lease property, the owner’s sign which was the Russian King, Frederick II was needed. Although this group is operating more than thirty states worldwide, only 30% of the company’s turnover is made in one particular state. Thus, Haniel’s aims to create value from investing in a small corporation and restructure it by using the expertise of Haniel’s company to ensure them to be professional and globally known. Recently, they have invested in Bekaert Textiles from Gamma Holding.
Besides that, repositioning of shareholders in the company is one of the major challenge faced by them. Around six hundred and eighty shareholders are organised in the Shareholder’s Meeting. The meeting is done one’s a year to elect the six shareholders representatives to serve for 5 years on the Supervisory Board. This company sees the changes as a chance for continued growth rather than allowing themselves to stand headed by actions. Thus, they actively shape their markets. Their basis of their success is mainly because of the continuous change. Thus, they observe the changes as an opportunity and they take up ongoing improvement and learning processes. They support this current information to create stands for discussion between the administrators and staff of the Holding Company.
