A personal perspective is that although it is unknown if the turnaround is completely due to the new CEO and vision, or the improvements, or both, it is of the opinion that in the least there would have been only a slight difference that stood between the various communication tools if the letter was composed slightly different such as: (Note: information for letter retrieved from BizCom)
Dear Valued Carnival Customers, As most of you are aware, through reports from the media, friends/family, or personal experience Carnival Cruise Lines had some recent incidents that has shaken the public’s confidence in our brand. Our goal is and has always been to ensure that our customers have a safe and enjoyable experience with our cruise line. The commitment and drive to that goal will remain strong as we move forward to drive continual improvement across all operations within the company.

I want to assure the public that currently all twenty four vessels in the fleet are of sound operation with system capabilities to prevent, detect, and respond to all emergency situations, and have meet the current regulatory requirements.

The incidents over the last couple of months are not being ignored and have prompted an operational evaluation into the cause of these occurrences, which are leading to solutions. Carnival Cruise Lines will be investing $300

In addition, as a precautionary measure the project include an increase to the already existing hotel accommodation services. Furthermore, a Safety & Reliability Review Board consisting of third party subject matter experts from various organizations will be implemented with a sole purpose of providing expertise and perspective to the end goal of driving improvement.
