It took us on a journey of war, invasion, colonialism, and the United States relationship with other countries. The performance included a lot of running around and a very loud, irritable high-pitched noise that just hurts your ears. In between performances, the host spoke a poem titled “Yesterday.” Afterwards, the School of Dance at Florida State University performed “ Nola All Up In My District Six.” This performance was my favorite of the night. It opened up with a monologue and somebody in a yellow suit. You couldn't see the person's face because it was covered with a black mesh covering. Eventually, multiple people came out on stage wearing red and yellow suits, with black mesh coverings on their face. The performance had a New Orleans and slight Caribbean feel to it, with upbeat music. Their energy and dancing really kept my attention the time. The African Caribbean Concert was fun, energetic, and entertaining and I'm so glad I went. It truly gave me a preview of the African and Caribbean cultures, some performances even displayed their troubles such as “ Between the Walls.” If I could, I would definitely go
