Have you ever wondered what it was like to try and help others out by simply doing your job? Imagine all the joy you would feel , just like changing a persons life but don't imagine just one life but thousands. This research paper will show you the requirements of being an oncologist. Like the educational requirements, a day in the life, job market information, and advantages and disadvantages.

Oncologists are physicians and surgeons who analyze and take care of patients suffering from cancer. There are many doctors, nurses, lab workers and orderlies who treat patients. Their professional control includes talking with patients about manifestations and looking for different signs of sickness.

Most oncologists train as internists and must complete a residency in internal medicine. They must know this in order to become an oncologist.
The fifth step is to pursue a fellowship in a sub-specialty. "No matter which sub- specialty an oncologist chooses, all of the physicians undergo at least two years of additional training with a fellowship in oncology." (doctorly.org). As they proceed in training, doctors may take a license exam and board certification for oncologists.

If this job interests you please stick around . Now in the morning an oncologist starts his/her day between 7 to 9 AM. The first thing they might do is go to their office, see the patients appointments, and start checking some emails. The oncologist might also check different research projects progress. They might also check the staff and get the staff meetings out of the way so that an oncologist can focus on the patients appointments and hospital visits. In the afternoon the oncologist can go visit hospitals and health systems to check up on the patients there. The oncologist can check the patients vitals, talk to his or her family members, and tell them how the patient is doing so far. Depending on the person, the oncologist might also revise some CT scans or various other things. Throughout the day the oncologist can sign forms and write prescriptions for many different patients. The oncologist might also have some callbacks but depending the amount of patients some staff can help with that too. In the evening the appointments end. An oncologist may go back to the hospitals they visited earlier to see a patient, depending on any special circumstances that may come up. Most oncologist and their day around 630 or 7 PM but that can vary. The amount of patients and the number of hospitals the oncologist is needed to visit may influence this number.
