Part One: Career Search I am interesting in becoming an ultrasound technician because it sounds like an easy job, that wouldn’t be too stressful. It is also a job that you wouldn’t have to worry about when you go home, your day ends when you get off work. The job pays well but when I have done a little bit of research on it before it has said that it depends on where you work, if you work in a hospital or an office. I don’t know much about being or becoming an ultrasound technician but I know they get paid somewhere around $60,000. There are different kinds of ultrasound technicians, there are abdominal sonographers which specialize in the kidney, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and spleen. Is it stressful? Would I have to worry about work when I go home? How long would I have to go to school? Where is the best place to work, office or hospital? What would a typical day be like at work? What are day-to-day responsibilities? Is the equipment they use difficult to figure out?

I’ve wanted to become an Ultrasound Technician since I was in middle school, so when I got the opportunity to do research on it I took it. Since I didn’t know much about it before I did research on it on Bls.com. I found this job when I was in middle school and we had to take a quiz to see what we should become and this job came up and I’ve been interested in it ever since. While I was doing research I found out that the average pay per year for an ultrasound technician is about $60,350 and most of them work full time. While some work in hospitals, others work in physician offices and medical and diagnostic laboratories. I would prefer to work in a hospital. To get a job you would need an associate’s degree or a postsecondary certificate, some places also require a professional
