The care planning meeting revolved around an 11 year old named, Katy, who was/is subject to care order. The rules around contact with Katy had been made very explicit to Katy’s mother and her Aunt, at the time of the care order being made. However upon receiving the case I learned that Katy had been having unsupervised contact with both her mother and her Aunt, as a result of a lack of adherence to the care order by Katy’s foster carers. The tasks performed by Home Care Workers to assist a client with daily living activities are documented in procedure manuals that have been endorsed by the (Clinical Practice Review Team) which forms part of the Australian Unity Clinical Governance Framework. Those procedures cover basic care support tasks such as assisting with showering or bathing, basic toileting practices, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, medication assistance, basic assistance with feeding, skin integrity and care.
