“Oh, I thought you were going to do something to Arne and me,” said Valdemar. A screeching noise filled their ears. Captain Jurkic fell to the ground. Everyone gasped. “Are you okay?” asked Ivar. “I’m bleeding.” said Captain Jurkic. The men loaded her to a bed where the injured are. “I’ll get you some food tonight.” said Torunn bringing a linen she made for Captain Jurkic. She came back with soup and Captain Jurkic took a spoonful and said “Ewww! What is this?” asked Captain Jurkic. “It’s onion soup. Anyone who is injured has to eat it.” said Torunn treating Captain Jurkic’s wound. “It’s just so disgusting. Do I really have to eat this?” complained Captain Jurkic. “Yes, if you want to get better,” said Torunn. Captain Jurkic gulped the soup down and realized that Torunn had a silver armband. It meant she was from a rich family. Meanwhile, when Captain Jurkic was sleeping, the men were playing “Piggy in the Middle” with rolled bearskins. Professor of archaeology at Stockholm university, Ingmar Jansson, states that “The Norsemen were not just warriors, they were farmers, artists, shipbuilders and innovators”, as well as a host of other vocations. Despite a quarter of the modern Orkney genome appearing to come from Norwegian Vikings, the lack of Danish DNA in modern descendants of Anglo-Saxons despite their long campaign, suggests the original belief of Viking barbarity was not as true as previously thought, because if there was as much rape as claimed, there would have been some trace of it in these modern genetics. The Vikings…

Given that the Viking period extended from 800 AD to 1050 AD, the Norse groups experienced multiple cultural shifts and political shifts that can be seen throughout their stories and cultural artifacts.
