Throughout World War II, there were many Canadian regiments that contributed in many different fights of the war. One of the Canadian regiments that assisted the Allies in defeating the enemy was the Royal Canadian Regiment. The Royal Canadian Regiment (RCR) was indeed successful during World War II. During the war, the military regiment took their time in finding out how to defeat their enemy in the most effective way. It also cooperated very well with other military units, as it was in their nature.…
9… Candidate Allison lacked command presence when she issued her order to her fire team. SNC was visibly uncomfortable with the five paragraph order and stumbled through the order. SNC did not brief the Admin and Logistics paragraph nor the Command and Signal paragraph. SNC made references that alluded to sections within the five paragraph order, but there was no connection as to the five paragraph order itself.…
Candidate Walker demonstrated an above standard level of proficiency in briefing the five paragraph order. SNC briefed her order by speaking in a clear confident tone and making eye contact with each fire team member. Even though SNC stated the word Execution during the right sequence she did not give Tasks and Scheme and Maneuver until the end. SNC got her team moving quickly in the direction of attack with good dispersion and control but veered off course significantly. SNC eventually got back on track with the assistance of the evaluator.…
Applicant Williams, Paul is a current E-5 Navy Reservist with prior Navy active duty time. He was eager to get back on active duty for job security. The Station Commander met with Williams during the initial interview and during the packet building process. Williams told the Station Commander that the Navy was not going to take him back on active duty and wanted to pursue a career with the Army with active duty being the end goal. Williams was motivated and assisted in getting all the source docs and his packet built with little to no delay.…
Candidate Bills delivered a very thorough and in depth five paragraph order. SNC was very diligent in ensuring that all information and additional information was passed to the fire team, at one point causing SNC to stumble over his thought process, and pause for a length of time to recoup his thoughts before moving on. This visibly flustered SNC. SNC lacked a sense of urgency by taking up a substantial amount of time to deliver the order. Upon completing the brief SNC took more time to square himself away failing to give any guidance to the fire team resulting in zero productivity.…
8. SNC provided the bare minimum information required for his five paragraph order. He lacked in confidence and when he was not sure of his azimuth he guessed a number and gave it to his fire team member responsible for the navigation. This decision would have gotten his fire team lost, but his fire team member corrected him. SNC was able to generate a plan and make decisions but they were not confident and well thought out decisions.…
In 1998, Havvard was taken into police custody once again from his grandmother’s house. At the time, it had been suspected that he had been residing with the woman for a while and that was the reason why the officers went there to locate him. They knocked on the door and requested that Havvard reveal himself to them, but he refused to do so. When he didn’t appear as soon as they asked him to, the police officers began to search the home in the hope that they could still find him there.…
The information Candidate Jennings briefed in his five paragraph order was sufficient, it flowed well, and sounded well thought out. However, Candidate Jennings very rarely made eye contact with his fire team as he briefed the order as if hiding behind his notes. Candidate Jennings briefed the incorrect grid for the "current location" of the fire team, even after asking the instructor to repeat the grid on more than one occasion to confirm their "current location". Once the order was given to move to the objective Candidate Jennings made good use of verbal and non-verbal commands to control his fire team, as displayed by seamless transitions as they shifted formations on the go.…

Accountability, unity, and intentionality are fundamental elements of a successful team. All three of these elements are interdependent on each other, yet are significant on their own. For these elements to work, each member of a team must depend on each other’s contribution, but not rely on one member to do all the work. As well, an intentional goal must be set for all members to unify the same mentality. In my own experience with the Buckeye Twirl baton team, we fail to perform as a team and work as individuals.…
