As Camille Pissarro got older he settled down and married a woman named Julie Vellay, who had once been his mother’s household maid. During Camille Pissarro’s life, he had a total of eight kids which may seem like a lot for our generation, but back then that was around how many kids each couple would have. Out of these eight kids, sadly two had died; one at birth and the other at nine years old. Interestingly, each of his children all ended up painting just as he had. In 1870 Camille Pissarro had to flee his home in Louveciennes due to the Franco-Prussian War. During this year that he wasn’t able to stay at his house in Louveciennes, he took refuge in London.
