Cafeteria Based Intervention Paper

Many interventions have been created to help increase the fruit and vegetable consumption of children. One of them is the Cafeteria Power Plus Project. The purpose of this intervention is to determine if a cafeteria-based intervention would increase the fruit and vegetable consumption of elementary-aged children. In order to do this, the researchers chose twenty-six schools in one large urban school district in Minnesota. Thirteen of these schools were deemed intervention schools, while the other thirteen were control schools. This study lasted for two years and narrowed in on children in first through third grade. There were lunch observations done at the beginning and end of the intervention. The intervention sought to increase opportunities
