A total of n=158 (98.7%) nurses participated in this research study. It consisted of n=45 males (29%) and n=111 females (70%). Only two participants (1.3%) gender data were missing. The age according to the participants range from 25 to 56 years and older, with the participants in the age group 26 to forty years consists of n=69 (44%) and age group 25 and less comprises of n=12 (8%).

4.3.2.1 Reliability of the CD-RISC
Pietersen and Maree (2012:216) mentioned that the coefficient that is used to measure the internal reliability of an instrument is called the Cronbach’s alpha. Burns and Grove (2009:379) and Pietersen and Maree (2012:216) suggested that a reliable estimate of ≥0.80 are regarded as acceptable by researchers. Table 3.2 indicates the reliability with regards to the research, which indicates that the results can be seen as reliable.
