Firstly, I hope to be a part of the School of Music at CBU because of my experience and skills in music and the music industry. I was a dance captain for eight years throughout middle school and high school, which has shaped the leader and person I am today. Teaching a variety of people from different ages and backgrounds has given me the ability to understand others and communicate with different audiences. Furthermore, I learned what being a leader means when I got the chance to know my team, especially in their times of nervousness at competitions. For example, I prayed with my team before we competed when I sensed their anxiety, and I always encouraged them to do their best, which helped them be at peace. By demonstrating my compassion towards them, my relationship grew with my team not just as a leader, but also as a friend. I am on the GO Team at Sandals Church in Riverside, participating in training to serve overseas. It is a year program where we meet once a week—likewise of CBU’s ISP trips—and focus our attention to the nations’ need for the gospel. I never expected to come to a point where I would give my life for God’s purpose because I didn’t always know Him. I grew up in a Catholic home attending private school, and soon after I became a “devout” atheist; however, by God’s grace and mercy, I am now a devout follower of Christ training as a youth leader at my church, making disciples, and walking with God to take part in His greater glory. Through my journey today, I am growing stronger in my theology, faith, and trust in God. It is such a blessing to look back and see how God has worked behind the scenes to prepare me for His love. At CBU, God will be a part of my educational and occupational decisions so that they may glorify Him for the sake of His
