A caesarian section (p. 65), also known as a C-section, is another way to deliver a baby, as opposed to a vaginal birth. A C-section is a surgical procedure where an incision is made through the abdominal wall as well as uterus to retrieve the baby. It is important to know this term before giving birth to a child because it may be an option you want to consider or may be suggested in an emergency situation. My mom’s first childbirth to my brother, Kenzie, was an emergency C-section.
