Business Myths: Part 1
There are many myths about starting a business. Most people think that starting a business on their own would be a cinch; that working for yourself is a fast way to get rich. Other people think that they just can’t do it on their own, or that their business idea is illogical or stupid.
You really have to think hard about starting a new business; but thinking you can’t do something just because you have heard rumors and myths that intimidate you will only lead to disappointment before your adventure in business ever begins.
While some people do very well rather quickly, others have to struggle; and it’s true, some just don’t make it on their own. One reason some businesses fail is that they believe the rumors and myths that they have heard about owning your own

Here are some business myths that will help you in your decision making process.
Myth 1: There’s no such thing as researching my idea too much: While researching your business idea is essential, researching it so much that you get discouraged is just a waste of your time, and a dishonor to your own idea. So what if there are other people with the same idea as yours? It doesn’t mean that you can’t accomplish your dream of owning your own business; it just means that you might have to work a little harder at it. Of course research your idea, but make sure you’re not doing so much research that you start changing ideas over and over again, or get so dispirited you don’t want to try it anymore.
Myth 2: There is no competition: Unless you have a truly innovative, first time product or service, this myth is one of the worst to believe in. Do your research and find out just how much competition there is for your product or service. If it seems the market is overloaded with your business idea; maybe it’s time to reconsider what you are
