The film Burn, which was a fictional representation of events happening in the 19th century, and starred the popular actor of the time Marlon Brando as Sir William Walker, presented a situation in which a revolt took place. The film follows this revolt through a series of events that led up to the less than climatic ending. Through a series of scenes depicting the bad treatment, forced labor, poverty, and war, the story sets a feeling of desperation within the islands citizens.

Through a man named Jose Dolores, he achieves what he sought, landing Jose Dolores a spot as a hero, and a man who could be easily manipulated as president. As the film progressed, Dolores shows that he means business by not giving in as easy as the men who help start the revolt had hoped. This situation worried Walker due to the fact that Dolores was beginning to take the role of hero a bit too serious for what he expected. This threatened the Englishman’s plans to have a cheap source of sugar for import into England, which was a highly sought after commodity due to its high consumption and profitability.
As the film progresses, the situation grows more worrisome for the people trying to profit from the sugar industry in the island. Confrontation erupts as a result, many bodies are depicted in several scenes, and many men in blue uniforms are seen with rifles ready to fire.
