Bully Theme In The Movie

Honesty is a golden virtue in the movie and in life today but so does pride comes before the fall. The most intriguing theme of this movie and what I feel is the most important reoccurring event in the movie is pride comes before a fall. People now days are so puffed up with pride and arrogant that it leads them to failure. There were a couple of people in Enders game who were puffed up with pride that in the end caused them to fail. Enders life was hectic, chaotic even there were many things happening at once. The first person that had too much pride was the bully from school that ended up getting beat up by Ender. Ender was in the shower when Bonzo came in and started to fight him but Ender used his smarts and made himself slippery and made the shower room steamy, so that if he got into Bonzos touch he would slip out and he has a better chance escaping because it was too steamy to see. Ender pushed Bonzo too hard to the point he bumped his head and ended up dying. The bully was the same situation except he didn’t pass away instead he gotten beaten. As we see that they both started with pride, they thought that nothing would happen that they would win because they were “better” than everyone else. That’s only to examples of how pride becomes before the fall and I’m sure there’s more examples in the movie but that’s what stands out to me the most in this movie. Ender had some tough times in battle school but he was a good person that ended up having a big hart and ended up not being able to kill a whole galaxy. The lesson is never being too cocky because you never know what might come up and surprise you. Ender never had to much pride or was too cocky even though he knew that he was good. At the end of the day you have to know what you are going against life is full of

Ender’s mother was shocked that an officer was proud of the decision Ender made that got him invited to the battle school because Graff was basically promoting violence to Ender, saying it is ok to use which made the novel disturbing. Also, the violence while in battle school made the children being in the characters more disturbing because of the actions they took. Ender and Bonzo were fighting in the bathroom because Bonzo wanted to kill him, “Ender whirled in time to see Bonzo stagger backward, his nose bleeding, gasping from surprise and pain”(211). The quote shows how Ender was defending himself from Bonzo, who wanted to kill him. The character should not have been a child and shown that violence was the problem solver.…

French author, George Bernanos once said “It’s fine to rise above pride, but you must have pride in order to do so” (cite). Bernanos believed that it is necessary for everyone to have to pride in order to succeed; but after someone becomes successful, one becomes too proud and that is when he will lose everything. Bernanos believed that pride is good in moderation, but having excess of characteristics like these causes people to lose what they work so hard to obtain. Sophocles explores the idea of having traits that can be good in moderation; but those same traits in excess cause people to lose everything they worked so hard to get. In Sophocles 's Oedipus Rex and Antigone, the kings’ excess pride and determination gives them what they want, but it…
