Yoga is usually, but not always, a female lead and female attended class. In this commercial, right off the back at the beginning of the ad, the stereotype of only females attending the class and the class being lead by a female instructor is seen.
Craig’s idea of “Men’s men” and how he explains in that idea that women are desired objects come into play when the men are seen in the back of the class performing yoga with fake lower bodies. These men only seem to be attending the class to see the women in tight workout …show more content…
Typically when men gather in a social setting to watch football or just hangout, beer is had. Bud Light is saying only men drink beer which is false because women, and even women who do yoga, drink beer as well. When these men open these beers, they are just hanging out in the back of the class watching these women and thinking inappropriate thoughts about how they are better than them.
The gestures in this ad of women performing different positions in tight workout clothes sends the message of gender roles to both the men and women. Women are suppose to think that they must workout and be looking good in their workout clothes in order for men to seek them while men are suppose to think that they can just sit back and relax and not have to workout and that these desperate women who work hard to look good in order to get men will just flock to them as they relax and drink
