Swelling and bruising is expected. Some patients experience these symptoms in parts of their faces that were not operated on (eyes and cheeks). This is nothing to be concerned with. The swelling generally dissipates within a week. Patients need to keep their head elevated for at least two days following their brow lift in Boston with Dr. Davidson. This eases the swelling; thus, reducing the incidence of bruising. Applying ice packs to the affected areas also reduces swelling and lessens pain. Tingling and numbness are not uncommon; however, these symptoms will ease over time. The majority of Dr. Davidson’s patients return to school or work within just 10 days of their brow lift procedure. The length of time a patient needs to recover depends on whether he or she underwent and endoscopic or traditional brow lift, as well as his or her own personal recovery rate.
