The microsystem encompasses the relationships and interactions a child has with his immediate environment (Bowes. & Hodge. 2012). The microsystem comprises the family, friends, classmates, teachers, family’s doctor and other people who have a direct contact with the child are included in the microsystem. How these groups or organizations interact with the child will have an effect on how the child grows (Bowes. & Hodge. 2012).
The mesosystem layer contains the relationship that occurs between two microsystems. There are many microsystems that interact with activities which affect the child’s development, such as the connection between the child’s teacher and his parents, when parents take an active role in the child’s school, such as attending parent/teacher conferences and volunteering in his/her classroom. This will have a positive impact on the child’s development because the two microsystem works together. The child’s development could be affected negatively if the two microsystem don’t work together (Bowes. & Hodge.
