She is still currently taking Tamoxifen (preventative medication) and will continue to take it for another 7-8 years fore sure if not longer depending upon what her doctor decides. After hearing all of this information about her involvement with this disease, I wanted to know what her day-to-day experience with breast cancer was like. She said, “Sure cancer sucks and its hell, but I found it earlier enough that I have chance to fight back and win, and it always helps having a support system like I do.” This shows that even in the most technological advanced country on Earth and a loving and caring family this disease is wearing and depressing due to what it does to you mentally and physically. Breast cancer is extremely deadly and always will be till there is a cure for all stages and types of breast cancer. Until that day, death and pain are inevitable. No matter where you are in the world, developing breast cancer is cruel, but the US is doing its best to lead the world in breast cancer standards and that is the very reason why my mother, Darrelleen Lewis is alive
