After Edward injects his vernom into Bella body, he, Jacob, and the Cullen family cannot help anything but wait for her to return. In the beginning of the scene, the music is slow and expresses the emotion inside everybody in the room. The combination of the music and the image of Bella’s dying body shows it is time for her to fight for her own survival. Also, the audience can easily realized that the music used in this early part of the scene is very famillar to the music used in death scenes of other movies. Therefore, although they only see Bella’s dying body, they are able to understand sad feeling inside other people in the room by hearing the underscored music. Two main functions of film music found in this sence are expressing characters’ emotions and explaining their unspoken thoughts. The slow music in the beginning of the scene helps the audience feel the sad feelings of the characters. The music which is used in the Twilight is now reused in the scene in order to express Bella’s unspoken thoughts during her tranformation process. Also, Burwel effectively uses silence as a great tool to increase the audience’s attention and create different emotions.
