Breaker Morant And George Whiton Case

In Breaker Morant the sentences given to Lieutenant Morant and George Witton were not fair. However, the sentence of Handcock was fair. Lieutenant Morant and Handcock were sentenced to death while George Whiton was given a life in prison sentence.
Lieutenant Morant was accused of killing a Boer prisoner named Visser, and the killing of eight Boers that were prisoners of war. The first case was that of Visser who was a Boer commando. He was taken prisoner after the death of Captain Hunt, and Lieutenant Morant gave the order to kill him because he was wearing a jacket that belonged to Captain Hunt.
