Brandman University: A Case Study

Angela Nelson-Swearingen, or Angie, is one of two Senior Academic Advisors at Brandman University, Riverside Campus. While she has been with the university for over 20 years and has held several positions during that time, Angie has been in her current position for about eight years. In addition to being an employee, she has also been a student at the university and has earned a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership and another in Human Resources. Brandman University is a non-profit liberal arts university that provides education opportunities to non-traditional learners. As Angie points out, according to the Brandman website, the university’s purpose is to, “impart knowledge and skills that help students achieve their dreams” (Brandman University, …show more content…
As an academic advisor, Angie's positions fits into the organization purpose by effectively supporting, mentoring, and engaging students so they can accurately plan their education and achieve their academic, career and life
