Throughout my life, my mother played both roles of a parent: mother and father. Although, this assignment says caregivers, I will base my response primarily towards how my mother raised me and the personality traits. My mother is a very strong, independent, loving, caring, and wonderful spirited lady. She strives to help anyone who is in need, which to me is so amazing. According to Bradbury & Karney (2014), "Most of us recognize implicitly that who we are as human-beings, and presumably as relationship partners, derives from how we were raised and nurtured" (p.222). The way my mother raised my sister, brother, and me was with respect, a caring heart, and honesty. While growing up, I have used these personality traits throughout my relationships.
