John Boyne had a passion for reading and writing books at a young age. He loved history and heroic adventure stories. In the beginning of the story is happy because they’re doing great in Berlin. As the soon as the family moves the mood changes. As Bruno meets Shmuel the story becomes sad. When Bruno learns about Shmuel like when he tells him about how he used to live in Poland the story becomes very sad. Although its very sad there is some curiosity. The reader becomes suspenseful and always want to know what happens next. At the end when Bruno is burned to death this is the most heartbreaking part of the story.
