As well as his family now is reacting to him. The Bowen Family model may have been more effective for the Taylor family. The young children as well as the adults may have benefited from the use of a visual aid, like the genogram. Bowen family therapy would have given Carl and Rosalyn more insight on the way their behavior may be affecting Earl’s. The family would have the opportunity to come to their own conclusions rather than the therapist pointing out the areas of improvement, as seen in Aponte’s structural family therapy video. In regards to my own skills, I feel that the Bowen family therapy would allow me to refrain from subjectivity. Additionally, I feel comfortable focusing on the family’s awareness of the systems they are a part of and their interactions/ behaviors patterns that are contributing to the
