His friend is a nationalist and supports the king so Franklin has to watch what he says. Then next morning a carriage arrives with a package for Franklin, which contains a letter from Hutchinson which pisses off Franklin. Next back in Boston Adams gets word of the letters that Franklin received and is discussing them with Samuel Adams, the letters say the governor is independent of and representative and will do what he pleases. Also in the letter is that if colonists won’t behave that they should use stronger force. A few weeks after he and his wife take a walk outside and discuss how a revolution is approaching and how Adams is sorry for not being present in their son’s life. Gage in Boston is worried about being replaced because he sees a ship roll into the harbor. Instead three generals were sent to aid in quenching the rebellion. He holds meetings about what they are going to do about the colonists. They decide to leave Boston and he suggests to his wife that she should leave and go to England. The next morning they see many rebels gathering in a nearby town, and they decide to burn the town.
