This is a picture of an early race between bootlegging cars. These cars are usually used to bootleg, or illegally transport alcohol to people. These cars had to be very fast to outrun the police. In the owner's free times, they would race. Eventually more and more people began to watch them, and NASCAR was started a few years later. This was a form of entertainment in the 20s. The bootlegger would transport alcohol, because even though it was illegal because of prohibition, people still wanted alcohol, so they would drive it to the customer.
