To keep those organs and areas functioning, the body reabsorbs calcium that is stored in the bones to maintain blood calcium levels. If the body does not intake or absorb enough calcium, bone tissue and bone production may suffer. Calcium and phosphate are vital minerals for bone formation throughout youth. When the body’s blood pH is low, calcium and phosphorous must seep out of bone to neutralize its system and increase the pH. Therefore, an acidic environment will make calcium move out of bone and not enough calcium/phosphorous levels will be detrimental in these conditions. Engage in weight-bearing exercise, don’t smoke or drink too much alcohol, and use bone supplements when necessary.
