Bon Jovi “Success is falling nine times and getting up ten times.”- Bon Jovi. This quote is from a true successful musician. His name is Jon Bongiovi. Bon Jovi is an American rock band with a lead singer whose name is Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi has and is still continuing to have success in the music industry. He had an interest in music in his teen years, prosperous career in the early 80s and 90s, and is still coming out with albums and is doing some philanthropy work to give back. Bon Jovi was born March 2, 1962, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. This full name was John Francis Bongiovi Jr. During his teen years he looked up to many musicians of his time. Some of those musicians were Bruce Springsteen and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. People would know Bruce Springsteen from his song “Born in the USA”. Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes were a rock band formed in New Jersey. Musicians such as these inspired Bon Jovi to pursue a career in music. After he was finished with high school at St. Joseph High School, New Jersey, he worked as a janitor. When he was 16, Jon Bongiovi, started playing in clubs. He had some success, but he still wanted to be like his idols. With this in mind, Bon Jovi formed a band. The band’s name was “Atlantic City”. He married Dorothea Hurley, a karate champion. He was in the movie Young Guns 2, Moonlight and Valentino, The Leading Man, Pay it Forward, and V-57. Between 1994 and present, the band comes out with about an album about every two years. In 2013, Richie Sambora left ,but reunited with the band in 2017. Bon Jovi is currently doing some philanthropy work. In 2006, he founded the Bon Jovi Soul Foundation that helps communities end the cycle of poverty. He also donated one million dollars to Oprah’s Angel
