Body Composition Assessment

In general, a vegetable based diet with sufficient amount of protein along with physical activity will influence body composition. In addition, genetics, age and gender are also crucial to improving muscle to fat ratio. Genetics is irreversible, genes affect how quickly people accumulate fat overtime. The amount of fat in a person’s body also increases as they grow older because older people gradually lose lean muscle. Most importantly, the amount of fats in male and female are different because women store more essential fats in the body than men. My body fat measurement depict that out of my overall body weight of 145; 32.63 pounds are fat. This shows that I should work harder to burn more fat and increase my muscle mass to achieve my desired percent body fat of 15%. In addition to working out periodically, I also watch what I eat by mentally recording the amount of caloric intake in a day and making healthier choices.
