Collection Policy
Collection development responsibilities have been delegated to the Collection Services Manager in collaboration with the Library Director. Together among a highly skilled staff of catalogers and access and content specialist, Blue Ash’s Collection continues to grow at a healthy rate.
Blue Ash stands apart in the library system in part for its strong graphic novel collection for both juvenile and young adults. The young adult graphic novel is a collection with 500 graphic novels while the juvenile graphic novel collections measures at 200 titles. The community surrounding Blue Ash is a younger generation whose circulation numbers, habits, and requests have surfaced to reveal a deep need for this specific subject area.

Formats
The library obtains materials in multiple formats. Selection within a format will follow the general selection principles outlined above.
The Library observes innovative formats and uses the guidelines of selection outlined above to choose the suitable time to add them to the collection. In addition to keeping up the new developments of formats.
Formats are reviewed on an annual basis on their continued health, availability, popularity, cost of repairs/warranties, etc.
