Blood Descriptive Writing

A beam of sunlight trickled into the room, somehow managing to find a gap on the thick black curtains hanging dangerously on the wall. It hit my skin, burning with excruciating pain. I pulled my hand out the way, noticing how pale it had become. I could already feel the thirst for blood developing inside, and my heartbeat was all I could focus on. I sat upright before I could finish the thought. I ran my tongue along the top of my teeth, feeling the new canines already developing. The point pierced my tongue, and a drop of blood dripped out, tasting an unsettling nice.
The new strength that even the little drop gave me brought me to reality.

I pulled myself out of the bed, then had a strange feeling. I glanced down, and saw I wore nothing but a night dress, made of a thin black lace just above the knee. Where had my clothes gone? I jumped at the noise; it was a lot louder than I expected it. Then I realised why. Vampires had enhanced senses! My hearing would be better than usual, and I had a sudden idea. I stood still, trying to be silent. Holding my breath so the breathing wouldn't distraact be, I listened hard. There! The sound of footsteps. I slowly moved towards the noise, stopping at each door in case I heard anything. At the fourth door from my room, the noise was the loudest. I pushed it open, and revealed a corridor almost identical to the one before. The only difference was that this one had a large pair of double doors at one end. Knowing that that door would lead me to someone important, perhaps even the one who ordered my changing, I headed to it, determined to confront whoever was past the sturdy oak. I paused just before I opened it. What if...? If I hesitated too long, it wouldn't be a surprise. I wouldn't have the upper

I walked to the front door to look through the peep hole but, due to my five foot stature, all I could see was the top of my porch. I listened quietly through the door. I never answered the door when I was home alone, some habit I had gotten after being reminded by my mother a thousand times, and I had a system worked out with my friends that they would yell through the door if it was them. I waited patiently but I heard nothing but flies buzzing and dogs parking from far away. I started to walk back to the office, chalking it up to the neighborhood kids when I heard my back gate open.…
