Background: Blood is the most important part of your entire body because nothing will function without blood. Blood is there carrier of most important proteins and gasses in your body. Blood has a major part in clotting, protection form unwanted pathogens, passage of oxygen to the body and blood also maintains a balance of fluids, temperature, pH balance and acidic levels. There are three parts to the blood. There is plasma witch is the fluid in the blood .there is then the leukocytes otherwise known as white blood cells that help fight off infections. Lastly there is the erythrocytes otherwise known as the red blood …show more content…
The test is important because it can help find things that may be wrong with you. Low red blood cell counts can mean anemia, bleeding of some kind, bone marrow failure, and even leukemia. High red blood cell count can mean there is a problem with your heart, dehydration, kidney tumor, and scarring and thinking of the lungs. (Dugdale, 2015)
White Blood Cell count is a test that measure the white blood cells in your blood. Just like the red blood cell test this test also can detect major problems in the body. White blood cells are produced when you have an infection or allergic reaction. They also produced more rapidly when under a lot of stress. A low white blood cell count is called leukopenia. Leukopenia is a result from cancer treating drugs, disease of liver or spleen, a vital illness for example mono, or a bacterial infection. It is also possible though to have a high white blood cell count. A high count would be from having anemia, a reaction from smoking, leukemia, or tissue damage such as burns. The results are valid because we did them by hand and didn’t relay on technology. However for some experiments there was technology needed that was not available. Normal result indicate a healthy well-functioning body. There are other tests to test for other diseases. Technology has room for error and always will. In this case the experiment would have to be done manually without a machine.
