Expr ssiobalims in many different types of art forms Many artworks show, expressionism. According to the art story, this art movement is a modern artistic movement that shows things from a subjective perspective in order to show a change in tone. This movement usually distorts reality to convey a certain tone. Expressionism was created in many cities across Germany in response to association with the world and being lost. It was also created in reaction to the impressionist art movement. Some famous examples of expressionists are Vincent van Gogh, Edvard Munch, and James Ensor. Brent staples, the main character is in his early twenties and struggles with the menacing crimes of being a negro. Brent staples explains his walks at night in New York City as a black man. Every stranger that realizes that Staples is a black man starts to fear him. In the beginning, staples explains how a woman started walk quickly as staples approached her. Staples shares many of his experiences as a black man being discriminated due to his race. In this essay, expressionism is shown in many different ways. For example, staples explains the fear of a women by not explaining what words she says but by explaining what her actions related. Staples states the eyes were shivering and showed disgust like an individual looking st a criminal or thug. He also adds on that the woman started to pace and walked faster away from Brent. The author using detailed actions allows readers to infer that the women is running away from the main character due to fear. Through the use of actions instead of and explanation of a very basic exterior, expressionism is used. Another example of expressionism was when Brent explains the steps he takes to prevent people from fearing him. He states “equivalent of the cowbell that hikers wear when they know they are in bear country”. Edvard Munch reveals an honest glimpse of his worries and feelings of anxiety, this emphasizes the importance of putting in emotions into the painting trahter than following the tradition idea of “beauty”.This art piece shows an individual standing in the middle of a bridge with a shocked face. The piece looked at at first gives off scary vibes because of how intimidating the character looks. However, if you closely examine the art piece, you can see that the main character is the only one who looks different. The people in the background look completely normal. This shows how different the screaming person is from others and explains how alone the individual is in the world. The curvatures in the individual screaming in the front describes many emotions at once. One can describe the individual as showing fear, anxiety and shock. Though the picture is not down like a “normal” arti piece, the painting still relays a lot of emotion through unique techniques which shows expressionism. Another example of expressionism is the background. It is very wavey and has a mixture of orange and black. The subtle mixtures of black in the sky can show how the world is not entirely one dimensional im emotions. It shows that the world has both joy and fear. The surroundings of water are also very unique as they constantly curve. The curvatures of the painting represents how there is a lot of “texture” in
