Used to prevent or reduce the severity of epileptic fits or other convulsions, chiefly of a drug, anticonvulsants can be used as mood stabilizers. Mood changes still occur with the proper treatment. Even though these are treatments for the disorder, they still have some side effects to them. They aren’t any major side effects but if you have the disorder you can expect to experience restlessness, dry mouth, bloating or indigestion, acne, even joint or muscle
