Bauer and his colleagues suggest two approaches for treating patient with Bipolar Disorder. First approach was regarding how to treat patient with Bipolar Disorder who are newly diagnosed. However, some data retrieved from multiple treatments meta-analysis of treatments for acute mania, suggested that medications like Haloperidol, risperidone and olanzapine would significantly work as a primary mood disorder (Cipriani et al., 2011). Furthermore, some randomized, double-blind, controlled studies suggested that olanzapine is more efficient in treating the manic episodes in Bipolar Disorder Tohen et al., 2003).
Also, another studies suggested that the use of Olanzapine as an adjunct therapy with wither Lithium or risperidone is more effective than using lithium as a monotherapy (Yatham et al., 2003).
