The tropical rainforest is a hot, most biome located near the Earth’s equator. Although they cover only about 6% of the Earth’s land surface, tropical rainforests are home to over 50% of global biodiversity due to the combination of constant warm and abundant moisture which makes the biome a suitable environment for numerous plants and animals. 57% of all tropical rainforests are found in Latin America. One third of the world’s tropical rainforests are located in Brazil. Other tropical rainforests are located in Southeast Asia, the Pacific Islands and West Africa. The hot and humid conditions cause tropical rainforests to be an ideal environment for bacteria and other microorganisms, because these organisms remain active throughout the year,
