George Washington was born on February 22, 1732. He was born in Pope’s Creek in Westmoreland County, Virginia. It is strenuous to figure out his actual birthday because he was born twenty years before the introduction to the calendar. Americans celebrate Washington's birthday the Monday before his actual birthday. When Washington was eleven his father, Augustine Washington, died leaving most of the property to George’s older brothers. Augustine married Washington's mother, Mary Ball, in 1731.
