Bill Gates is an investor, philanthropist, and an American business magnate. Bill worked with Paul Allen and they both co-founded Microsoft. Microsoft began on April 4, 1975. Microsoft became the world’s largest PC software company. Gates held the position as chairman, CEO and chief software architect. Bill also authored and co-authored many books. Bill Gates Is now known as one of the wealthiest man in the world. In 1980 Microsoft formed an important partnership with IBM. When Microsoft launched Microsoft Window they had captured 90% market share of the world’s computer. They have 79,000 employees from 102 different countries. Microsoft is worth $90 billion in the US. As the computer industry began to grow with companies like Apple, Intel and IBM developing hardware and components, Bill was continuously out on the road touting the merits of Microsoft software applications. Microsoft and Apple shared many of their early innovations. In 1981 Apple invited Microsoft to help develop software for Macintosh computers. Some developers were involved in both Microsoft development and the development of Microsoft applications for Macintosh. The collaboration could be seen in some shared names between the Microsoft and Macintosh systems. He has put in millions of dollars to help find a cure for HIV and Aids. Bill also wrote two books named “The Road Ahead” and “BILL GATES Business @ The Speed of Thought: Using a Digital Nervous System. If it weren’t for Bill Gates we probably still be using typewriters, he made it so much easier to use a computer. Bill gates got a ton of awards after he made Microsoft. Gates received many doctors honorees causa from many different institutions. Also received a KBE (knighthood) from Queen Elizabeth II in the United Kingdom. His philanthropic work is some of the greatest in the world. Gates has given more than 1000 scholarships to minors. Many people appreciate what he is doing to try and change the world. That is one of Bills goals in his life. Gates began to realize that he had an obligation to give more of his wealth to charity .It’s amazing how much money he puts into all this, it really doesn’t leave much money for himself and his family, but he is willing to give to people who need it the most. That’s what many people love about Bill. Bill has a foundation called Bill & Melinda, the world’s largest charitable foundation. This foundation will invest $5billion to South Africa over the next 5years. The foundation partners organizations worldwide to tackle critical problems in four program areas. Helps improve U.S. high school and postsecondary education and support vulnerable children and families in Washington State. Gates continues to devote much of his time and energy to the work of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Gates stepped down as chairman of Microsoft in 2014, so that he can concentrate more on his foundation and also as I talked about earlier, to find a cure for HIV and Aids.
