In 1989, a Centennial Building Committee for the Beta Zeta Chapter of the Sigma Nu Fraternity was formed. The purpose of this committee was to raise funds for the new house so we could break ground in the Spring of 1990 and have it completed by the Summer of 1992, which was the 100th anniversary of Beta Zeta at Purdue.

I thought that sounded like a reasonable job and accepted it. Later, I found out that I was responsible for raising the funds for the new house!
With the help of our Steering Committee (Chuck Ludwig ’68, Jay Maddox ’68, Jay Ricker ’72, Dave Rish ’72, and Al Wurster ’82), we started off on our task. We were given a list of 923 names of alumni and active brothers from 48 different graduating classes. All we had to do was to find all of their addresses, send them pledge cards, and solicit donation from them!!! We didn’t know how many of them were alive and furthermore, didn’t even know most of their addresses!
