One of the best educational brokers and cultural translators that I have encountered was Mrs. Barbara Lewis. She was the Principal at Jefferson County High School for over fifteen years. The worst educational broker and cultural translator was Dr. Joyce White, Jefferson County Junior High School Principal. The leadership approach between these two gentlemen is distinctive and enormous. Mrs. Lewis led by positive example and valued everyone on her team. She had strong task skills as well as strong people skills. She was an expert in curriculum and instructions. She worked with all stakeholders and encouraged them to an active role in the educational process. She put the students’ interest before her own. She was willing to work with her critics
