To begin with, in paragraph two of the article, the author states that " play is simply rest or downtime for the otherwise industrious soul". The justification he gave was that " we get our word “scholar” from the Greek word for leisure, skole. It should not be squandered on play, in Aristotle’s view" . Aristotle holds the views that sheer pleasure does not contain any merit in itself. Mere amusement would only gain valuation if it is being treated as an relief from our daily work .

To illustrate this point, if the labourers were to given the privilege to sit down and think about their work life and the work conditions, it may causes some disputes or even riots among them and their employers due to unjust working rights of the employees. There is no leisure time given and the employees often work excessively overtime, in harsh conditions and their health is often disregarded. The point is that the elites, the employers, the bosses do not allow slack in the employees because they need workers to be in the manufacturing industry, to produce goods and services in the shortest amount of time in order for them to earn their profits. This being said, it is not that the workers would not contemplate if they are willing to stay on their jobs during their working hours, but they are trapped in a situation whereby they have no choice. Therefore, for their case, the labourers are not entitled to basic rights like leisure time.
Henceforth, the points I want to bring across is I do agree with the viewpoints stated, but to a certain degree.
