Each individual has a unique set of personality traits that determines how they behave, solve problems and interact with others. Understanding these traits can help each individual have more self-knowledge and by doing so increasing personal success. Learning about our personality type and the type of others, makes us understand why people react differently in different situations; it also least us observe that we are predisposed to certain specific abilities and inclinations. This paper will explore many aspects of the candidate life, including communication patterns, past behaviors, spirituality, family background and political agenda. By exploring these aspects of his life we can have a better understanding of what his values are and his priorities, if he becomes the next President. The Presidential Candidate we are going to evaluate is known as a progressive socialist. He is the Independent Senator of Vermont and Presidential Candidate for the Democratic Party, Mr. Bernie Sanders. His political agenda is very controversial because he is against big government and in favor of an equal share of wealth. His “socialistic” political views contradict the capitalistic nation we live in, so he is very criticized from many individuals. Some of the personality traits of Mr. Sanders are, that he is a very private, analytic, altruistic, moral, honest, transparent and humorous individual. To explore what his inherited traits are and the situations that have influenced his personality, we are going to use three theoretical approaches. Bernie’s upbringing was significantly influenced by the paycheck to paycheck lifestyle, mentioning that there was always tension about money in his family “I do know what it’s like when the electric company shuts off the electricity and the phone company shuts off the phone—all that stuff. So, for me, to talk to working-class people is not very hard.” (Talbot, 2015) Bernie had an older brother named Larry, and they both attended public schools in New York City. Sanders grew up in a three bedroom apartment in a community of immigrant families “I grew up in Brooklyn. Many of the families were immigrants and they understood the importance of education.” (Barkan, 2015) Some relatives of Eli Sanders died during the holocaust.
