In the exert, there is a kingdom celebrating all their triumphs with the king, Hrothgar, in his hall, Heorot. There is this monster, Grendel, that never had the chance to be a nice person or experience happiness because he descended from Cain. Grendel killed 30 men in the hall while they were sleeping after celebrating. After many attempts, Hrothgar and his men were not able to defeat Grendel so they moved into another town near the hall. Grendel continued killing men every night for 12 years. When Beowulf, the best hero in the world, notices that Hrothgar's kingdom war under Grendel's dominance. Beowulf, decided to travel to Hrothgar's kingdom to help him defeat the monster. Beowulf arrived and the king's soldiers headed him to the hall's entrance, he and his 12 best men waited for Grendel's arrival at the hall. Beowulf, unarmored, fought Grendel and ripped Grendel's arm off but Grendel escaped. A few days later Grendel's mother wanted to revenge his son, so Beowulf and his men equipped themselves to kill her. Grendel's mother was as tall as a building and as strong as a bear. Grendel's mother took Beowulf into his cave and they fought one on one, at the edge of death Beowulf counter attacks her with a sword, made by giants, left there by someone.
